Sunday - Getting Started

This page is here to help you set up Sunday to meet your own needs. It's a work in progress, but I hope you find it useful.

Groups

Everybody you add to the database is a member of a group. At St Columba, we have groups divided by school year and gender, and each group has a different coloured nametag.

In Sunday, you'll need to create one or more groups before you can start adding people.

Each group needs a name and a barcode prefix - which must be 5-7 characters long and can't end with a number. If your entered 09GRN as a prefix (the 2009 green group, for example), the people in that group would get barcodes between 09GRN1001 and 09GRN9998.

To add a group, click 'add group' from the tools. You can change or remove groups later if you need to.

Sessions

The week is initially divided into seven sessions - one for each day. Each session can be divided into more sessions. If like St Columba you have two Sunday school classes (at 8.30 and 10.30am), you would divide the Sunday session in two, and adjust the split time so that it's somewhere between 8.30 and 10.30. Sunday can then tell you who attended the earlier class and who attended the later class.
