A few years ago I made some pretty cool Windows programs for talking on the IRCs and uploading/downloading on the FTPs. I haven't really done much to either program since, so I've decided to release the source code to both and let anyone go wild with it. Also it's a good way for me to have a backup copy.

The code is now available on my Mercurial server, as is, and with pieces missing. You're basically welcome to do whatever you want with it as long as you post the BSD license included. Don't be a dick.

Also, you might notice that the web pages for the projects are pretty sparse and probably out of date. This is because very, very few people actually use the software in question, and it's really not worth the effort maintaining the pages.

OK, I know that probably less than 10 people on the entire planet have ever used my IRC client - given that this is the first sign of action in 20 months I don't really blame them - but someone out there might be interested to know that there's a new version.

To be quite honest it's been so long since I actually made the changes I don't remember them all. What I do know is that IRC24 will now watch for network disconnections and reconnections and respond appropriately.

So if you're out there and you're still using this thing... here you go. Enjoy.

Six months after the last release, and four months after I planned to, here's a new version of IRC24 for you!

This is just a prettiness upgrade (I don't remember changing anything else, but it's been a while), and it should look smokin' on XP and Vista. If anything looks wrong let me know.

I'm just preparing my website to look a bit fancier for when they arrive.

New versions are due for IRC24 (which is ready to go, I just need to package it all up and put it here) and the FTP Client (which still needs a name, and isn't quite as ready to go).

Unfortunately for you it's a brilliant summer here and I may be forced to make the beach a higher priority than writing software.
